From the recording Halfway to Number Nine

This song was born from the memories of an 8 year old kid loading firewood at Cottonwood Point just a few miles from Number Nine-which by the way is a real place made up of the hard working folks of the Delta that I grew up around. Every line in this song is based on real life experiences and the folks referenced are just as real. We used to shoot pool at Pastime, work on tractors, ride the levees and of course raise a bit of hell occasionally just because we were obligated to.......this song is dedicated to the hard working folks of Blytheville, Number Nine and all of Mississippi County. Hats off to you.....
